DO YOU BELIEVE...?

  1. DO YOU BELIEVE...? In American exceptionalism, meaning that;
    • America has done more than any international organization or institution, and more than any other country, to improve this world; and
    • That American values (specifically, the unique American blending of Enlightenment and Judeo-Christian values) form the finest value system any society has ever devised and lived by.
  2. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
  3. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while, and you must forgive them for that.
  4. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
  5. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.
  6. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That it's taken you a long time to become the person you want to be.
  7. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That you should always, leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
  8. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That you can keep going long after you can't.
  9. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
  10. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That either you control your attitude or it controls you.
  11. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place?
  12. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That true heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
  13. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That money or property is a lousy way of keeping score.
  14. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That your best friend and you can do anything or nothing and have the best time.
  15. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down will be the ones to help you get back up.
  16. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That sometimes when you’re angry you have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give you the right to be cruel?
  17. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
  18. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
  19. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
  20. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.
  21. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for whom we become.
  22. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other, and just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.
  23. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
  24. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.
  25. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That your life can be changed in a matter of minutes by people who don't even know you.
  26. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That life is precious and should always be protected?
  27. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help?
  28. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  Those credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
  29. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.
  30. DO YOU BELIEVE...? Everyone has a right to pray to his or her God.
  31. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  The money YOU make belongs to you and your family, not some mid level governmental functionary.
  32. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two loving parents.
  33. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That if you do not know how a ballot works, you should learn. You don't want someone deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years unless they do.
  34. DO YOU BELIEVE...? If you know how to vote and do vote, you have every right to protest; if you do not exercise your right to vote, then you have no right to protest.
  35. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That the police have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law; or shoot you, if you run away.
  36. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That if someone is selling you something; they do it in English.
  37. DO YOU BELIEVE...? Owning a gun and knowing how to use it, doesn't make you a killer; it makes you a smart American.
  38. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That being a student doesn't give you any more enlightenment than working at MacDonald’s. In fact, if your parents are footing the bill, you haven't begun to be enlightened.
  39. DO YOU BELIEVE...? If you see someone without a smile, you should give them yours.
  40. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That the bigger government gets and the more powerful the state becomes, the greater the threat to individual liberty and the greater the likelihood that evil will ensue. In the 20th century, the powerful state, not religion, was the greatest source of evil in the world.
  41. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That the levels of taxation advocated by Governments render those taxes a veiled form of theft? "Give me half of your honestly earned money or you will be arrested" is legalized thievery.
  42. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That government funding of those who can help themselves (e.g., the able-bodied who collect welfare) or who can be helped by non-governmental institutions (such as private charities, family, and friends) hurts them and hurts society.
  43. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That the United States of America, from its inception, has been based on the Judeo-Christian value system, not secular Enlightenment values alone, and therefore the secularization of American society will lead to the collapse of America as a great country.
  44. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That some murderers should be put to death; that allowing all murderers to live does not elevate the value of human life, but ridicules it, and that keeping all murderers alive trivializes the evil act of murder?
  45. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That the American military has done more to preserve and foster goodness and liberty on Earth than all the artists and professors in the world put together?
  46. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That lowering standards to admit minorities ridicules the real achievements of members of those minorities?
  47. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That when schools give teenagers condoms, it is understood by most teenagers as tacit approval of their engaging in sexual intercourse?
  48. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That the assertions that those manmade carbon emissions will lead to a global warming that will in turn bring on worldwide disaster are functions of hysteria, just as was the widespread belief that heterosexual AIDS will ravage America?
  49. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That marriage must remain what it has been in every recorded civilization -- between the two sexes; one male and one female?
  50. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That, whatever the reasons for entering Iraq, the American-led removal of Saddam Hussein from power will decrease the sum total of cruelty on Earth?
  51. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That the trial lawyers associations and teachers unions, have done great harm to American life -- far more than, let us say, oil companies and pharmaceutical companies.
  52. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That nuclear power, clean coal and drilling in a tiny and remote frozen part of Alaska and offshore -- along with exploiting other energy alternatives such as wind and solar power -- are immediately necessary?
  53. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That school vouchers are more effective than increased spending on public schools in enabling many poorer Americans to give their children better educations?
  54. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That while there are racists in America, America is no longer a racist society, and that blaming disproportionate rates of black violence and out-of-wedlock births on white racism is a lie and the greatest single impediment to African-American progress.
  55. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That America, which accepts and assimilates foreigners, better than any other country in the world, is the least racist, least xenophobic country in the world?
  56. DO YOU BELIEVE...? The leftist takeover of the liberal arts departments in nearly every American university has been an intellectual and moral calamity?
  57. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That a good man and a good marriage are more important to most women's happiness and personal fulfillment than a good career?
  58. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That males and females are inherently different? For example, if you give a girl trucks, she is likely to give them names and take care of them, and if you give a boy trucks, he is likely to crash them into one another.
  59. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That when it comes to combating the greatest evils on Earth, such as genocide, the United Nations has either been useless or an obstacle.
  60. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That, generally speaking, Western Europe provides social and moral models to be avoided, not emulated?
  61. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That America's children were positively affected by hearing a non-denominational prayer each morning in school, and adversely affected by the removal of all prayer from school?
  62. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That educators' removal of school uniforms and/or dress codes has had a negative impact on students and their education?
  63. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That bilingual education does not work, that for the sake of immigrant children and for the sake of the larger society, immersion in the language of the country, meaning English in America, is mandatory.
  64. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That English should be declared the national language, and that ballots should not be printed in any language other than English? If one cannot understand English, one is probably not sufficiently knowledgeable to vote intelligently in an English-speaking country.
  65. DO YOU BELIEVE...? That there are millions of Americans who share most of these beliefs who still call themselves "liberal" or "progressive"?
  66. DO YOU BELIEVE…?    That everyone should show proof of identity and citizenship when exercising their right to vote.
  67. DO YOU BELIEVE...?  That YOU should vote based on values, not emotions.

If you believe in at least half of the above and in “American Exceptionalism”, then you should be voting. Otherwise, you should not be voting at all; for your believe system needs reforming. I would not want you voting for the next leader of the free world without believing in at least half of the above.
